L-Arginine is an amino acid that helps with erection problems and considerably improves the immune system.
Proteins are composed of twenty-four constituents, of which, Arginine is one of them.
Erections first start in the brain and are provoked by nerve stimulation. The brain sends signals to the penis, the vessels irrigating the penis dilate and the muscles protecting the entry of spongy tissues loosen, allowing the blood to pass in hollow tissues. The more blood there is, greater the erection will be.
Arginine allows the body to produce nitric oxide (NO). Nitric oxide participates in the erection process and provokes softening of smooth cells, thus, increasing blood flow to the penile arteries.
A clinical study conducted in 1994, on fifteen impotent men, proved the effectiveness of Arginine in treating erection problems.
A supplemental daily intake of 2.8g of Arginine was administered to them for two weeks.

Those who took placebo had not seen any improvement of their erection.
Those, for whom the Arginine treatment worked, were on average the age of 37.5, and those for whom the treatment had not improved, their erection were on average the age of 55.4.

Wounds or serious infections, burns, too much lysine intake, problems provoking an overproduction of ammonia, chronic undernourishment, and certain congenital diseases which inhibit normal urea synthesis, may lead to Arginine deficiency.
