From Natrol Laboratories, 5-HTP 's action is similar to Prozac although it is 100% natural.

The amino acid 5-HTP is generated from the tryptophan. The serotonin that characterizes it is a neurotransmitter which appears at the brain level, gastro-intestinal tract, cells, and blood platelets.

5-HTP acts positively on insomnia, sleep, and depression. It fights against headaches and stabilizes the appetite.

5-HTP is also very effective to improve mood, reduces panic, and worry.

Intake of 50mg per day of 5-HTP is recommended during intense stress, anxiety, and headaches.
On the other hand, during fybromyalgie, chronic migraines, or depression, it is recommended a daily intake of 100mg.
